The two-year pre-production phase was followed by four months of on-location shooting across various parts of Poland, Bordeaux in France, and the Spanish island of Majorca, where Chopin spent several months together with George Sand.
One of the biggest projects in the history of Polish cinema, it involved 260 actors, more than 5,000 extras, approximately 300 horse-drawn coaches and carriages, as well as a production crew of 600.

Directed by Michał Kwieciński of Poland, written by Bartosz Janiszewski, and produced by the Warsaw-based Akson Studio, “Chopin, Chopin!” focuses on the composer’s final years in Paris, where he died in 1849.
The titular role is played by 34-year-old Eryk Kulm, who, according to the director, “was born to play Chopin; apart from resembling Chopin physically, he has musical training.”

The film is scheduled for general release in the autumn of 2025, coinciding with the 19th International Chopin Piano Competition, which begins in Warsaw on October 2.
