The 34-year-old worked on A Real Pain, directed by Jesse Eisenberg, and The Girl with the Needle, by Magnus von Horn, both of which will compete at the Oscars in March.
Dymek's work on A Real Pain, a dramedy starring Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin, contributed to its nominations for Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor.
Meanwhile, von Horn’s The Girl with the Needle, a historical drama, is in the running for Best International Feature Film.
The rising cinematographer, who has already received numerous industry accolades, is also shortlisted for the American Society of Cinematographers’ Spotlight Award for The Girl with the Needle, with the winner to be announced on February 23.
Dymek has built an impressive portfolio, having worked on acclaimed Polish films such as Supernova; Sweet End of the Day, starring Krystyna Janda; and Sweat, also directed by von Horn.
He has won multiple awards, including Poland’s Eagle Award, the Golden Frog at the Camerimage film festival, and two prizes at the Gdynia Film Festival.
His cinematography for Jerzy Skolimowski’s Oscar-nominated EO earned him the American Film Critics Association Award in 2022.
Born in Warsaw, Dymek graduated from the prestigious Łódź Film School.
He recently collaborated with Oscar-winning filmmaker Charlie Kaufman on a short film shot in Greece, now in post-production.
His latest feature project, Good Boy, a Polish-British thriller directed by Jan Komasa and starring Stephen Graham and Andrea Riseborough, is awaiting release.
