Katarzyna Figura receives prestigious honor from International Theatre Critics Association

Polish actress Katarzyna Figura has been bestowed with the Irena Solska Award by the Polish section of the International Association of Theatre Critics (AICT), recognizing her outstanding contributions to the acting world.

The award recognizes her outstanding achievements in acting. Established in 2010, the Irena Solska Award honors exceptional female theater artists and is named after Irena Solska, a legendary figure in Polish theater known for her dedication and remarkable contributions to the arts.

Figura is the 15th recipient of this prestigious award, joining a distinguished list of past laureates including actresses like Danuta Szaflarska, Nina Andrycz, and Emilia Krakowska.

In Poland, Katarzyna Figura is best known for her versatile acting career, with standout performances in successful Polish comedies such as Kiler (1997) and Kiler-ów 2-óch (1998). Over the years, she garnered critical acclaim for her roles in films like Ajlawju (1999), Żurek (2003), and Ubu Król (2003).

Beyond cinema, Figura’s stage career has flourished with significant performances at the Dramatic Theatre in Warsaw and at the Wybrzeże Theatre in Gdańsk, where she has continued to showcase her exceptional range since 2013.

Throughout her career, she has become a prominent figure in Polish cinema and theater, celebrated for her dynamic roles and strong presence on stage.
