Krzysztof Zalewski was crowned as Poland's "Artist of the Year" - and before receiving the most important distinction of the night, he had already appeared on stage twice. His tune "ZGŁOWY" turned out to be Poland's "Alternative Pop Single of the Year", and the LP of the same title was named "Rock & Blues Album of the Year".
"To me, this statuette is proof that when it comes to making music - you should just go for it, no holds barred. In the song ZGŁOWY I spilled out my guts, autobiographically to the bone. My friends were like 'man, it's too much, you'd better dress it up in some metaphors, don't be so blunt, it's not a good idea, for real'. Meanwhile - it turns out that in the era of mass-produced plastic music, where we are attacked by carbon-copy hollow songs every day, such an honest and straightforward thing might just as well be what we really need"
- Zalewski said, accepting the statuette for single of the year.
Poland's Phonographic Academy members have chosen the "Artist of the Year" from all the musicians nominated for this year's edition of the awards. Accepting the top distinction of the night, Zalewski emphasized that more than one shall be handed out, as many artists present deserved it - and personally he was certain that the title would go to Katarzyna Sochacka.
Polish Rapper Quebonafide was also recognized twice, in both cases for his song "Futurama 3" - in the "Hip-Hop Single of the Year" category, and for the "Music Video of the Year". It is worth mentioning that the clip was created by world-famous Polish quantum physicist, Andrzej Dragan, with a heavy use of artificial intelligence.
Katarzyna Sochacka also took to the stage twice to grab this year's Fryderyk - first when her tune "Szum" was announced Poland's "Pop Single of the Year", and then when her album "Ta Druga" was unveiled as the country's "Pop Album of the Year".
