Rani is in the running in the European Composer (Original Score) category.
Sentimental Value follows two sisters grieving the loss of their mother as their long-absent father unexpectedly returns.
The film also picked up nominations for Best European Film, Director and Screenplay, while co-stars Renate Reinsve and Stellan Skarsgård were nominated for Best European Actress and Actor.
This marks another significant international project for Rani, who previously scored The Summer Book, a Charlie McDowell-directed adaptation of Tove Jansson's same-titled novel about love, family and nature. The UK-US-Finnish co-production premiered last month at the London Film Festival.
The European Film Awards ceremony will take place on January 17 in Berlin.
Rani, 35, is a graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and has built a successful career as a pianist, composer and singer, blending jazz, classical and electronic influences.
Her previous international work includes the score for The Summer Book, directed by Charlie McDowell and adapted from Tove Jansson's novel of the same title.
Rani has won multiple Fryderyk Awards, Poland's top music honours, and has recorded four solo albums.
