The tour will feature the competition’s winner, American pianist Eric Lu, along with fellow laureates Kevin Chen of Canada; Chinese pianists Zitong Wang and Tianyao Lyu; Japan’s Shiori Kuwahara; Poland’s Piotr Alexewicz; Malaysia’s Vincent Ong; and American pianist William Yang.
The musicians are scheduled to give eight concerts in Japan—including performances in Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo—and one concert in Seoul, South Korea.
The all-Chopin programme will include selected solo works by the Polish composer as well as his two piano concertos, performed with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Antoni Wit.
The tour opens on Thursday in Kumamoto, Japan, and ends on February 3 in Seoul.
