It has brought together more than 200 translators of works by Polish Nobel Prize-winning authors Czesław Miłosz, Wisława Szymborska and Olga Tokarczuk, as well as by such acclaimed writers as Jacek Dukaj, Urszula Honek, Dorota Masłowska, Wiesław Myśliwski, Tomasz Różycki, and Andrzej Sapkowski.
They have come from across Europe, the Americas and Asia.
The programme of the three-day event comprises panel debates and meetings with Polish writers covering the problems encountered by the translators in the work, new publications by Polish authors, artificial intelligence and the promotion of Polish literature abroad.
The agenda also includes the presentation of the 2026 Transatlantyk Prize, an annual award from the Polish Book Institute for the most outstanding promoters of Polish literature and culture abroad - translators, publishers or critics.
Launched in 2005, the World Congress of Translators of Polish Literature is held every four years.
