The festival comprises three more concerts, on September 8, 11 and 13, with featured artists and ensembles including the Partes Choir performing 17th and 18th-century music, singer and hurdy-gurdy instrumentalist Andrij Laszuk specializing in traditional Ukrainian songs, and the Symphony Orchestra of the Ukrainian National Philharmonic from Kyiv performing Lyatoshinsky’s Symphony No. 4 and Stankovych’s Violin Concerto No.2., with Andrij Czajkowski as the soloist.
Now in its 12th edition, the Ukrainian Music Days festival is organized by the Pro Musica Viva Foundation.
The Foundation writes on its website that it hopes that "showcasing Ukrainian high culture will help improve Ukraine’s image in Poland", adding that "a better future for our region lies in Polish-Ukrainian rapprochement and understanding."
