In an interview with Radio Poland, composer Matthew Hardy says it was a challenge to translate Paderewski’s spectacular career and rich personality into the language of a musical.
Hardy's work won one of the top awards in the Paderewski Musical competition run by the Warsaw-based Adam Mickiewicz Institute.
Virtuoso is due to be staged at the Music Theatre in the western Polish city of Poznań next year.
