The cast also includes Karen Gillan (Dual, Jumanji, Guardians of the Galaxy) and Jermaine Fowler (Sorry to Bother You, The Drop).
Late Bloomers centres on Louise (Gillan), an aimless millennial who drunkenly breaks her hip and ends up in physical therapy. There, she makes friends with an elderly Polish woman (Stein) who speaks no English. The unlikely bond gives her the courage to face the pain of her mother's Alzheimer's.
Zajączkowska, 66, began her acting career in 1979 as a member of Warsaw’s National Theatre company. After moving to the United States in 1981, she adopted the stage name Margaret Sophie Stein and continued her career in television, film and theatre.
Her credits include Woody Allen’s film Bullet over Broadway, Mark Tarlov’s Simply Irresistible, Glen Jordan’s Sarah Plain and Tall, and Paul Mazursky’s Enemies: A Love Story. She also appeared in Noel Coward’s Present Laughter on Broadway.
In 1999, she returned to Poland and has since made numerous successful appearances in both film and theatre.
