The programme includes digitally remastered Kieślowski films such as The Double Life of Veronique and The Three Colours (Blue, White, Red) trilogy.

Cinema Nimas describes Kieślowski on its website as “one of the finest 20th-century directors,” adding that “some of his films are a must for any cinema buff."

Meanwhile, one of the early features by veteran Polish director Jerzy Skolimowski, Deep End, is set to be screened as an event accompanying the Kieślowski retrospective, which runs until January 11.

Apart from The Double Life of Veronique and The Three Colours trilogy, Kieślowski achieved international critical and popular success for films such as Camera Buff, Blind Chance, and The Decalogue series.

He died in 1996 at the age of 54.
