In June 2023, The New York Polish Film Festival will celebrate its 18th Anniversary. The main goal of the event is to bring a variety of films to hundreds of viewers in the New York City Metropolitan area, at theaters and online.

The festival’s Opening Gala Special screening is set to take place on June 10, at the Scandinavian House, Park Ave, New York. The program includes various features, documentaries, short films, and meetings with filmmakers, actors, and directors, informed the official website of the festival.

This year, the promising young generation of Polish filmmakers will represent Polish cinema at the Polish Film Festival in New York. The program will include films that have successfully entered Polish screens and have won awards at many festivals.

The audience will also have a chance to watch production such as BREAD AND SALT (CHLEB I SÓL) by Damian Kocur, BRATY by Marcin Filipowicz, ROVING WOMAN by Michał Chmielewski and DANGEROUS GENTLEMAN by Maciej Kawalski, with great Polish actors Andrzej Seweryn, Marcin Dorociński, and Tomasz Kot.

"This year's festival is dedicated in memory of Irek Hartowicz, an extraordinary cinematographer, husband, and father whose life was tragically cut way too short", wrote the organizers.
