France suspends dismantling of Skłodowska-Curie site in Paris: audio report

France's culture ministry has suspended the planned dismantling of a site linked to Polish-French double Noble Prize-winner Maria Skłodowska-Curie.

Bulldozers were due to move in Paris’s Latin Quarter on Monday to knock down one of three buildings that made up Skłodowska-Curie’s Paris laboratory.

France’s culture ministry stepped in at the last minute to suspend the demolition.

Paris councilor Anne Biraben told Polish Radio it was a "mere suspension" so there was still a possibility the Skłodowska-Curie site would be dismantled in the future.
