Orliński is introduced by the magazine as “a star countertenor, a brilliant breakdancer … who lives life at full throttle, is full of enthusiasm and curiosity.”

At 33, Orliński is among the world’s most sought-after countertenors. He recently completed a 21-concert European tour with the programme of his latest CD Beyond, which features music by early Baroque composers.

BBC Music Magazine’s Rebecca Franks writes that, since his first album, Anima Sacra, in 2018, Orliński "has earned a reputation for digging up rarely known Baroque gems and giving them the Midas touch.”

In a wide-ranging interview with the magazine, Orliński focuses on his upcoming CD Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice, which is set to be out on Warner Classics on April 26.

According to Orliński: “It’s one of the most phenomenal pieces, not only because the story is beautiful, not only because the music is genius, but also because it’s presented in a very accessible way”.

He adds: “As a character, Orfeo shows bravery, true love and passion, and he’s a very dramatic character, which I love.”
