From July 26, the façade of Warsaw’s Raczyński Palace at Długa 7, home to the Central Archives of Historical Records, will come alive with history.
The 3D Mapping project, created by the State Archives to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising, merges historical heritage with modern technology. "Using archival materials from the Central Archives of Modern Records and the National Digital Archives, this multimedia animation will create a unique image of pre-war Warsaw," said Agnieszka Pietrzak of Central Archives of Historical Records.
The mapping will be divided into several segments. "It will start with a presentation of photos showing Warsaw as the 'Paris of Europe,' illustrating the city's beauty before the war. Then, scenes depicting Germany's attack on Poland in 1939 will be displayed. The largest segment will be dedicated to the Uprising fighters who stayed at Długa 7 during the Warsaw Uprising," Pietrzak explained.
"We aimed to reach young people, using multimedia shows, special effects, sound, and light to pique their interest and deepen their understanding of the Warsaw Uprising," Pietrzak added.
Catch the "3D Mapping - Długa 7 in the Warsaw Uprising" projections from July 26 to 28 (pre-premiere shows) at 8:30 PM, 9:00 PM (English version), 9:30 PM, and 9:50 PM. The premiere show will take place on July 31 at 8:30 PM (following the Memory Appeal). The projections will conclude on August 11.
