The Hollywood Reporter, a magazine that has been a fixture in the American media landscape since the 1930s, described the Łódź Film School as one of Europe’s oldest film institutions, offering comprehensive programs that lead to bachelor's, master's and Ph.D. degrees.

The magazine noted that the school's alumni include Oscar-winning directors Roman Polanski and Andrzej Wajda, legendary auteur Krzysztof Kieślowski, and an impressive number of world-class cinematographers, such as Paweł Edelman, Dariusz Wolski and Łukasz Żal.

In addition to the Polish school, The Hollywood Reporter’s top 15 list includes Britain's National Film and Television School, the Australian Film Television and Radio School, and China’s Beijing Film Academy.

The Toronto Film School and the Czech Republic’s FAMU also made the list.

The Hollywood Reporter reported that the Łódź Film School "offers full- and part-time instruction ... with tuition-free courses for EU citizens.”

All courses are in Polish, and foreign students who pass their entrance exams can benefit from a year-long Polish-language course before they begin their studies, The Hollywood Reporter said.

The Łódź Film School took to social media to congratulate its faculty, students and staff on this prestigious recognition.

"Your talent, work and dedication allow the School to maintain its consistently high standards, which are appreciated not only in our country but also in distant corners of the globe," it said in a post.

Founded in 1948, the Łódź Film School educates aspiring film directors, cinematographers, screenwriters and actors.
