Despite the challenges of the ongoing war, this celebration of Polish cinema across the eastern border is being held for the ninth consecutive year in cities such as Lviv, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, and Odesa, which have been heavily affected by attacks during the conflict.

Due to the ongoing war, it is not possible to bring guests from Poland, but the films being shown represent the highest quality of Polish cinematography.

The organization of the festival must adapt to safety conditions, which is why there will only be one screening in Kharkiv and Odesa.

„First and foremost, we want to showcase the latest Polish cinema. Of course, this is possible only to the extent that the situation in Ukraine allows. We are presenting films from various genres, including the thriller Doppelgaenger. We will also screen the highly discussed Polish film Green Border by Agnieszka Holland," said Jarosław Godun, Director of the Polish Institute in Kyiv, during the official opening of the Polish Film Days in Ukraine.

The movie "Green Border" received an important distinction - the Golden Lions in Gdynia - during the last weekend.

"This pain still persists. The situation at the Belarusian border has not changed after the change of government, and in some respects, it has worsened," said the world-renowned director Agnieszka Holland while accepting one of the most prestigious film awards in Poland.
