The event, organized by the New York Dance & Arts Innovations organization, celebrates the artistic, global legacy of Chopin by showcasing innovative artists who work across a variety of media uniting traditional and contemporary art forms.

Like Chopin, these artists blend the traditional and the modern, the national and the universal, according to the Polish Cultural Institute in New York.

New York Dance & Arts Innovations, a New York-based cultural not-for-profit organization, has assumed responsibility for the production of this popular celebration of the arts, which will last throughout November.

This year marks the 175th anniversary of Chopin’s death and various events have been planned to honor the most emblematic and prolific Polish composer.

The festival's opening concert at the Polish Consulate General in New York on November 8 will showcase some of Chopin’s piano solo music as well as chamber works, Polish songs and jazz arrangements of the composer’s most famous masterpieces.

The second concert at the Klavierhaus Concert Hall on November 20 will take the audience on a musical journey to modern times, the Polish Cultural Institute in New York said.

The closing event at the Polish Consulate General on November 26 will feature "less-known arrangements of Polish masterpieces in unusual settings," according to the Polish Cultural Institute in New York.

The festival will feature performers including Polish American pianist Nicholas Alexander Kaponyas, Italian pianist Alberto Nosè, Polish American soprano Małgorzata Kellis, and Ukrainian flutist Denis Savelyev.
