The jazz ensemble will perform on January 14 at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in the Belgian capital, marking the start of Poland's six-month turn at the helm of the EU Council.

The presidency's concluding ceremony in June will feature acclaimed countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński, who gained international recognition after performing at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Throughout the six-month presidency, numerous cultural events are planned to highlight Poland's rich arts and culture.

These include a special event with Nobel Prize-winning author Olga Tokarczuk and an expanded celebration of Polish Day, an annual event in Brussels' Cinquantenaire Park, which will feature performances by artists including the celebrated folk ensemble Mazowsze.

"Next year, the event will have a unique dimension, with an extended program and outstanding artists," said Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka, a deputy minister overseeing preparations for the project. "It will be a special way to celebrate the Polish presidency."

The official opening of Poland's EU presidency will take place in Warsaw on January 3.

This will be the second time Poland has held the bloc's rotating presidency, following its first term in the second half of 2011.

Poland became a member of the European Union on May 1, 2004.
