Taking part in a video conference with his EU counterparts, Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz was quoted as saying on Wednesday that “Ukraine and other Eastern Partnership countries need strong European Union support in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Czaputowicz told the conference that “the reform plans of the new Ukrainian government deserve full EU support,” the Polish foreign ministry said on its website.
During another video conference a day earlier, Czaputowicz urged consistent EU support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity amid strong pressure from Russia, the Polish foreign ministry also said.
“Russia’s pressure on Kyiv remains strong,” Czaputowicz said on Tuesday during the international conference focusing on cooperation with Ukraine.
“It is necessary for the EU to maintain a consistent approach to support Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he added, as quoted by the Polish foreign ministry.
