Linette, who is ranked world No. 44 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), will next face the winner of a match between Ukraine's Elina Svitolina and Belgium's Alison Van Uytvanck.
Meanwhile, Poland’s Iga Świątek has booked a spot in the second round of the women's singles at Wimbledon with a straight-set 6-4, 6-4 win over Taiwan’s Hsieh Su-wei on Monday.
She next takes on Russia's Vera Zvonareva for a place in the third round.
Świątek in 2018 won the Girls' Singles title at Wimbledon.
