The opening concert, entitled "From Opole to Opole: The Biggest Stars and Legendary Hits," starts at 8:15 pm and will feature pop favourites such as Maryla Rodowicz, Natalia Kukulska and the bands Lombard and Blue Cafe.
Later on Friday, new acts will take to the stage to compete for the best-debutant prize.
One accolade will be granted by a professional jury and another by the public in a text-message vote, the festival organisers, state broadcaster TVP, announced.
Songs from popular Polish TV series, such as Wojna domowa (Household Wars), Jan Serce (Fire Heart) and Czterdziestolatek (Being Forty), will resound around the southwestern city of Opole on Saturday, with acts ranging from Alicja Majewska to the band IRA and teenage star Viki Gabor, winner of the 2019 Junior Eurovision competition, taking part in a concert called "Big Hits of the Small Screen."
Finally on Sunday, 10 short-listed acts, including Paulla, Bartek Królik and 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest winner Roksana Węgiel, are set to premiere their new tracks, vying for the best-new-song award, also to be decided in a text-message vote.
In addition, a jury made up of musicians, journalists and critics will grant its own prize.
Separate events will honour past greats Marek Grechuta and Krzysztof Krawczyk, as well as present-day literary songs and alternative music, TVP said.
