The agency also revised downward its projection for Polish economic growth in 2023 to 1.5 percent from the 3 percent it forecast earlier, Poland’s PAP news agency reported on Thursday.
Fitch, one of the world’s "Big Three" credit rating agencies, in July affirmed Poland's "A-" credit rating with a stable outlook, saying it expected that the Polish economy "will remain resilient to external shocks and growing macro-economic challenges, due in part to a stable fiscal position and an improved external balance sheet."
The agency at the time cited Poland's "diversified economy," coupled with "a fairly sound macroeconomic framework anchored by EU membership" as the rationale for its rating action.
The Polish economy expanded by 5.5 percent in the second quarter of this year, after registering 8.5 percent growth in the first quarter, according to the country’s statistics office.
