Foreigners spent EUR 10 bn in Poland in 2019: stats office  

Foreigners bought PLN 45.3 billion (around EUR 10 bn, USD 11 bn) worth of goods and services in Poland last year, the country's Central Statistical Office reported on Thursday.

This marked an increase of 4.1 percent from 2018, the statistics office said.

Meanwhile, spending by Polish nationals abroad totaled PLN 23.5 billion in 2019, growing by 8.9 percent from a year earlier, the office reported.

Poland this month temporarily closed its borders to non-residents in a move to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Officials announced on Wednesday that the country’s borders would stay shut until April 13 as the epidemic persists.
