Meanwhile, two in three firms saw revenues fall at the end of April and the beginning of May compared to March, said the study carried out for the Polish Economic Institute and the Polish Development Fund, a state-owned financial group.
The report said that Polish companies were in an uncertain situation, but the number intending to resort to "radical survival strategies" was decreasing.
Twelve percent of companies said they were planning layoffs, a result that was 16 percentage points lower than at the end of March and 2 percentage points lower than in mid-April.
The study carried out by pollster IBRiS on April 28-30, with owners and decision-makers from 400 companies surveyed.
Polish lawmakers last week backed a plan to expand a massive relief and stimulus package of measures aiming to shield the economy from the coronavirus pandemic.
Poland’s president on Friday outlined a plan for more aid to the unemployed, including a special allowance to workers who lose their jobs due to the coronavirus crisis.
