"The Polish pavilion is almost 90 percent complete, with its interior getting the finishing touches," said Adrian Malinowski, an official spearheading Poland's preparations for the Dubai exhibition.
He noted that the global event in the United Arab Emirates was fast approaching.
During the summer the Polish pavilion will be "tested for functionality" and then open its doors to the public for a dry run in September, Malinowski added.
He told Poland's PAP news agency in an interview that the Polish pavilion "will be almost entirely a no-touch experience" for visitors amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
On December 7, Polish Day will be held in Dubai, marking the culmination of the country’s presence at the global exhibition, according to the expo.gov.pl website.
Polish Day will coincide with the 30th anniversary of the opening of the Polish embassy in the United Arab Emirates, and the celebration will be accompanied by a meeting of officials from the two countries as well as a range of business and cultural events.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Dubai exhibition, called Expo 2020, has been postponed by a year and will take place from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.
