The 20-year-old Pole on Monday beat Taiwan’s Hsieh Su-wei, 6-4, 6-4, in their first-round women's singles match at the grass-court tournament in the British capital.
Świątek, who is ranked world No. 9 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), will next face the winner of a match between Russia's Vera Zvonareva and Marie Bouzková of the Czech Republic.
The Polish player earlier this month failed to defend her title at the French Open after losing 4-6, 4-6 to Greece's Maria Sakkari in the quarterfinals.
Świątek won the 2020 French Open, claiming her maiden Grand Slam title and becoming the first Pole to lift a Grand Slam singles trophy.
The rising Polish star in 2018 won the Girls' Singles title at Wimbledon.
