The city of Lviv, Ukraine’s sixth-largest, has been considered relatively safe compared to other major cities such as Kyiv, Kharkiv and Mariupol, which have seen weeks of bombardment and heavy fighting.
Lviv has now become home to thousands of refugees from the east of the country fleeing shelling and attacks by the Russian army.
Hundreds of volunteers have teamed up to provide all possible help to those escaping their homes.
Anastasia is one of the many young people who have joined the effort.
Polish Radio's Paweł Kurek spoke to her at a refugee aid centre in Lviv.
