The Gaia Vari project was recently launched by the European Space Agency (ESA).

“Rather than admiring picturesque images from a space telescope, this project is about studying data or spots in graphs from the telescope showing changes in objects such as stars,” said Milena Ratajczak, an astronomer at the University of Warsaw.

This year marks the 550th anniversary of the birth of the great Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus.

Michał Owczarek has the story.
