Celeste Wallander, US assistant secretary of defence for international security affairs, said this week that Poland "is an extraordinary ally" and a "reliable" and "wonderful host" to American troops, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
Speaking before the House of Representatives' Committee on Armed Services on Wednesday, Wallander added that Poland "has also been incredibly stalwart and helpful" in the United States' "ability to provide security assistance to Ukraine, to support the training of Ukrainian forces," according to the PAP news agency.
"Poland has really emerged as a leader among NATO allies in Europe ... and I consider us very lucky that we are the framework nation for the battle group in Poland ... because we can count on them," she was also quoted as saying.
