The main objective of the Polish presidency is to empower consumers by promoting responsible choices, the watchdog announced.

Among the topics that will be explored are dark patterns, scams, artificial intelligence, the future of finance, and influencer and content marketing, it said.

"In business competition, we have lots of challenges, both when it comes to practices and social media control," Tomasz Chróstny, the head of Poland’s Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK), told Radio Poland's Danuta Isler.

"We want to be more and more active in this area," he added.
