The parade has been marching through the city's streets every year since 2001.

Initially a small event, it has grown into an important celebration in Warsaw for all who value freedom, equality and mutual tolerance.

This year's participants include singer-songwriter Luna, who represented Poland at the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest with the song The Tower, as well as officials such as Deputy Prime Minister and Digital Affairs Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski, who is a member of the parade's Honorary Committee.

Equality Minister Katarzyna Kotula told Radio Poland's Danuta Isler ahead of the event that "June is Diversity Month, so we hope to convey a positive message about the same-sex partnership bill."

She added: "I think it's the minimum that we need in terms of equality, and I am ashamed that we have been discussing it for so many months. On Saturday, we want to see everyone on the streets of Warsaw, and I hope we'll have good news to share by then."
