The Moldova Partnership Platform Conference, which took place in Chisinau, focused on the upcoming elections in Moldova in light of Russia's destabilization efforts and its interference in Moldovan politics.

There have been frequent accusations from Moldova regarding the Kremlin's attempts to stoke tensions in the country. The current President, Maia Sandu, has consistently raised concerns about Russia's alleged interference in Moldovan politics and the spread of disinformation. It is worth noting that Sandu is seeking re-election on October 20, the same day as the referendum on joining the European Union. As the situation in Eastern Europe is high on the EU’s agenda, the representatives of several Western countries gathered on Tuesday, to discuss the need to support the countries threatened by Russia’s propaganda.

Poland was represented by Foreign Minister, Radosław Sikorski, who just before the conference’s commencement, said that all the delegations came to confirm support for Moldova in its European development direction.

Ada Janiszewska has the details.
