Speaking at an event held by the Nippon Keidanren business organisation, the Polish head of government said his country was interested in developing closer economic ties with Japan.
"Poland is ready to welcome Japanese producers and investors," Morawiecki said, as quoted by state news agency PAP.
"We want to develop economic cooperation from our position as one of the most dynamically growing economies in the European Union and worldwide," he added.
Morawiecki told executives that Poland was “the future of Europe” and encouraged Japanese companies to invest in the country.
He specifically listed joint projects in areas such as eco-friendly electric transportation and new energy sources, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
Morawiecki was being accompanied to Tokyo by a delegation of government officials and representatives from more than 20 Polish companies.
During his two-day visit, he was scheduled to meet with Japanese officials including Prime Minister Shinzō Abe.
