A week-long sniper course held at a centre in Toruń, northern Poland, focuses on familiarising the soldiers with the principles of covert movement in urban terrain.
“This is the second installment of a project we have shared since last year with the Illinois National Guard,” said Col. Edward Chyła, Poland’s Territorial Defence Training Commander.
“Following last year’s ice-breaking activities, a decision was immediately taken to hold more trainings," Chyła added. As a result, a deal will be clinched in late July between our training centre and the peer unit of the Illinois National Guard."
Additionally, the soldiers are receiving training in urban warfare tactics, which include navigating between buildings and engaging in close-quarters combat.
