The Congolese delegation to the event was led by Senate Speaker Modeste Bahati Lukwebo and included representatives of the country's parliament, selected provinces and ministries, banks and governmental agencies, as well as representatives of the private sector from industries such as agri-food, education, construction, new digital technologies and mining.
Congo is one of the richest African countries when it comes to natural resources as it has vast deposits of lithium, cobalt, copper, cadmium, petroleum, diamonds, gold, silver, zinc, iron ore and coal.
Agriculture and forestry generate 20.1 percent of its GDP and industry and mining provide 31 percent, while its large population and vast area make Congo one of the largest markets for exporters to Africa.
"Cooperation in the mining industry is among the most promising, with cobalt and lithium exploration," Congo's ambassador to Poland, Clémentine Shakembo Kamanga, told Radio Poland's Danuta Isler ahead of the event.
She added: "As we know, Poland is now in the process of producing an electric car. We have lithium in Congo and we may be a solution to that."
