In May, the Polish Space Agency revealed plans for a lunar expedition with initial preparations due to begin later this year.
The project would aim to explore the Moon via a satellite to register distant infrared radiation.
Jakub Ciążela and his team from the Polish Institute of Geological Sciences had submitted the winning project, Mirores, which aims to search for minerals on the Moon using far infrared radiation.
