With a little less than two weeks to go before the parliamentary election, an OSCE-led mission has already been busy monitoring the election process in Poland.

“In the field of elections, OSCE parliamentarians continue to actively observe elections throughout our region to promote effective institutions in view of the election-related standards participating states have committed to,” the Vice-President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Pia Kauma, said in Warsaw on Monday.

“I will personally be leading observers here in Poland for the parliamentary elections,” she added.

Poles will head to the ballot box on October 15 to elect 460 new MPs and 100 senators for a four-year term.

Poland’s governing conservatives are seeking a third consecutive term in power, maintaining a clear lead over the opposition in most recent surveys.

Radio Poland's Michał Owczarek has the details.
