The protest, led by "Save the Rivers" coalition and the "River Sisters" collective, was a renewal of an appeal to the Prime Minister to repair Poland's water management and ensure the rule of law on Polish rivers. The organisations submitted a letter with their demands addressed to Prime Minister Donald Tusk, signed by dozens of activists, scientists, specialists and citizens.
"Poles deserve access to clean water - so we must treat it as an element of the environment that is sensitive to climate change" - the protest organisers wrote on social media.
The activists want to support the government's decision-making to be a part of the solution to Poland's water-related problems. This includes resolving the most pressing current issues of this kind and participating in discussing the country's upcoming water management reforms.
