Four new privates, including a German shepherd, a Dutch shepherd and two Belgian Malinois, received their ranks earlier this month amid military pomp at the 2nd Mazovian Engineer Regiment stationed near Warsaw.
“Military ranks hold symbolic significance, serving as a reminder that these dogs are more than mere tools for detecting explosives—they are living beings, nearly considered members of the Armed Forces”, said spokesman Capt. Dominik Płaza.
