NAWA - Teaching Polish in India

The Polish language is reportedly used by 45 million people, over 38 million of whom live in Poland. More and more people around the world, however, are learning Polish as a foreign language. In this radio programme, we look at initiatives by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) to teach Polish in India.

The first courses teaching Polish in India were offered at Delhi University in 1968. Nowadays, they are also available at Manipal University, also known as the Manipal Academy of Higher Education - a private facility located in the state of Karnataka in south-western India which works with NAWA.

One of the teachers taking part in the initiative is Justyna Guziak. In the program we hear from Poland's Ambassador to India, H. E. Adam Burakowski, as well as to Justyna Guziak and some of her students.
