During their conversation on Tuesday, Rau and Truss also talked about efforts to strengthen the eastern flank of NATO, the Polish foreign ministry said.
Meanwhile, Truss said in a tweet that she spoke to Rau on coordinated support for Ukraine, including a joint Polish-British commission "to provide Ukraine with weapons and training."
The talks also focused on the UK’s "support to Poland to provide shelter and education to those fleeing the conflict," according to Truss.
During a visit to Warsaw earlier this month, Truss said that Poland “was right” about Vladimir Putin’s “malign intent,” as evidenced by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
She at the time thanked Poland for being “at the frontline of helping Ukraine.”
She stated: “Poland has always been clear-eyed about Russia. You have understood Putin’s malign intent. You were right.”
At a joint news conference with Rau in the Polish capital, Truss called for an international investigation into Russia’s “heinous crimes” in Ukraine, Poland's PAP news agency reported.
