Dmytro Kozacki is the famous soldier-photopgraher from the Azov regiment trapped by Russians in the siege of the Azovstal plant.
Before his capture he sent many striking images of the conflict to the world, not expecting to survive captivity. However, he, along with 214 of his comrades, were released in exchange for 55 Russian POWs (reported here).
His mother has shared the story of her reuniting with her son with the Ukrainian Ukrinform agency. She received an "anonymous" call asking, "I believe it is true that you celebrate your birthday soon, Madam." "Yes, that's true. With whom am I speaking?"
When Iryna Jurchenko realised it was her son, she lost control and began shouting, "I love you!!"
