In a week when both Putin and Medvedev have escalated threats to use nuclear weapons and the Duma is set to meet on Friday to sign the annexation of Ukrainian regions, the Polish Prime Minister emphasized that NATO is demonstrating its unity - both financially and militarily.
In a statement made on Facebook, Morawiecki stressed that both Poland and the United States have shown their commitment to a strong "eastern flank" to NATO.
On Thursday 29 September, the US Embassy communicated that the US Congress had confirmed USD 288.6 million in additional funding from "Foreign Military Financing" for Poland.
This is in addition to the USD 27.2 billion which Poland is committed to spending on defence in 2023.
