Russian military death toll in Ukraine rises to 97,270: report
Around 97,270 Russian troops have been killed in Ukraine since Vladimir Putin invaded the country in late February, according to Ukrainian military authorities.

The Russians have also lost 2,980 tanks, 5,952 armoured personnel vehicles and 1,946 artillery systems during their military campaign in Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Friday, as cited by state news agency Ukrinform.
On Thursday alone, Ukrainian forces "eliminated" 680 Russian soldiers, according to the ukrinform.net website.
Other Russian losses in Ukraine include 410 multiple launch rocket systems, 211 anti-aircraft warfare systems, 281 warplanes, 264 helicopters, 16 warships, and 1,648 unmanned aerial vehicles, ukrinform.net reported.
Friday is day 296 of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
