‘Kyiv stands strong, proud’ : US President

"Kyiv stands strong. Kyiv stands proud,” US President Joe Biden wrote in a tweet, marking the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

"I was in Kyiv this week, and I can report: Kyiv stands strong. Kyiv stands proud. And most importantly, it stands free,” Biden said, joining a h host of international leaders as they condemned Moscow and expressed their unwavering solidarity a year after Russian President Vladimir Putin launched his full-scale invasion on Poland’s eastern neighbour.

In another tweet Biden added that Ukrainian flags were flying from homes across the US, and that over the "over the past year, Democrats and Republicans have come together" in solidarity with Ukraine.

"A dictator bent on rebuilding an empire will never erase the people’s love of liberty. Brutality will never grind down the will of the free. And Ukraine will never be a victory for Russia. Never,” Biden also wrote.
