Poles also feel positive about Italians, Britons, Slovaks, Czechs and Ukrainians, pollster CBOS has said.

Meanwhile, Russians lead the list of nations that Poles feel most negative about, while Belarusians are also strongly disliked, the survey found.

Sixty-eight percent of respondents said they liked Americans, while 61 percent said they liked Italians, and 51 percent said they felt positive about Ukrainians.

At the other end of the spectrum, 82 percent of those polled said they felt negative about Russians, while 51 percent said they disliked Belarusians.

The survey also found that Poles feel far more positive about Ukrainians that they did before Russia's invasion.

Positive sentiment about Americans and Ukrainians rose by 10 percentage points from last year.

The greatest increase in negative feelings, meanwhile, was recorded in the case of Russians, by 44 points compared with January last year, CBOS said.

The study was conducted from February 6 to 19 on a sample of 982 respondents, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

Thursday is day 393 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
