Ukraine’s military command made the statement in its latest update on Russia’s aggression on Monday, Poland’s tvp.info website reported.

The Ukrainian General Staff wrote that the Russian "occupiers continue to rob the civilian population of Ukraine, appropriating the grain harvest.”

Officials added that in Berdyansk, a port on the Sea of Azov in Ukraine’s southeastern Zaporizhzhia Oblast, the Russian occupation authorities were "trying to export stolen grain by loading it onto enemy cargo ships.”

Last week, the Lloyd’s List website reported that Russia’s occupying forces in Berdyansk were reportedly working to increase the port’s export capacity.

Fiercest battles for Bakhmut and Mar’yinka

Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces repelled about 60 enemy attacks in the eastern Donetsk region over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff also reported on Monday.

The fiercest battles continued for the cities of Bakhmut and Mar’yinka, tvp.info reported.

Russia also launched one missile strike, 46 air strikes and “about 60 rounds from multiple-launch rocket systems” on the positions of Ukrainian troops and on populated areas, according to Kyiv’s officials.

Civilian casualties

In addition, Russia “actively uses aviation,” deploying “winged aerial bombs” in Ukraine’s eastern Luhansk and Donetsk regions, as well as in Zaporizhzhia and in the southern Kherson province, Ukraine’s General Staff said.

As a result, “there are dead and wounded among the civilian population, destroyed and damaged private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure,” Ukrainian officials reported.

Russian forces lack medical personnel

Meanwhile, “the occupiers are extremely short of medical personnel on the battlefield,” Ukraine’s General Staff also said.

It added that “to replenish the insufficient number of military doctors,” the occupation authorities were forcing local employees of Berdyansk medical institutions to enlist in the Russian army, according to tvp.info.

“In case of refusal, they are threatened with the loss of their jobs,” Ukraine’s General Staff said.

Ukrainian counterattacks

Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces were carrying out local counteroffensive operations, tvp.info reported.

Over the previous 24 hours, Ukraine’s air force carried out 14 strikes on areas where Russian troops were concentrated, the Polish website said.

Also, two Merlin reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles and one Orlan-10 UAV were shot down, as well as eight Lancet kamikaze drones, according to Ukraine’s General Staff.

Ukraine’s artillery struck three enemy radio electronic warfare stations, Ukraine’s military command also reported.

Monday is day 425 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
