The attack was conducted using the Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles, in the morning, The Kyiv Independent website reported.

Multiple explosions were heard in Kyiv shortly after 10 a.m., Polish state news agency PAP reported.

The city’s anti-rocket systems went into action, according to officials.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko wrote on the Telegram social messaging app: “Explosions in the city stay in the shelters please.”

He later added that missile debris hit the territory of a children’s hospital: “Fragments of a rocket fell on the territory of one of the capital’s children’s hospitals. There were no injuries or damage. Emergency services are on the scene.”

Blasts were also reported in the central regions of Vinnytsia and Khmelnytskyi, but as of 10 a.m. CET Ukrainian officials had not yet commented on their consequences, according to The Kyiv Independent.

After the all-clear sounded across Ukraine, Klitschko said on Telegram that missile debris struck several places in the city, but there were no casualties, The Guardian reported.

The mayor of Kyiv wrote: “In addition to the debris of the rocket that fell on the territory of one of the capital’s children’s hospitals, two more crash sites were found in the Obolon district of Kyiv.”

Klitschko added: “The roof of a private house was damaged on Bogatyrska Street. Also in Obolon, a wreck was discovered in an open area in one of the summer cooperatives. There are no casualties.”

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.

Friday is day 534 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
