The Ukrainian military said it had successfully shot down four cruise missiles out of a total of eight airborne targets detected.

Ruslan Kravchenko, governor of the Kyiv region, said two people had been wounded and 10 buildings damaged by falling missile debris.

"Thanks to the professional work of the air defense forces, there were no strikes on critical or residential infrastructure," he said in a statement.

As part of its 18-month-old full-scale invasion, Russia has conducted series of air attacks using both missiles and drones, targeting Ukrainian urban centers located at a significant distance from the frontline.
